Festi'Tour :

Stage 1: l'Herbe à l'Aise (the Relaxed Grass)

Castenau-Barbarrens, surrounded by the glens of the Gers, at the outskirts of the Bédat forest, lotti & Mark's house rests in a grassy den. They settled in the Gers 17 years ago from Switzerland.

Their life projects revolves around autonomy and simplicity : they live without electricity, oil and cars… They use gas, woodfire or a solar oven to cook. They move about on foot, by back (equipped with a cart for deliveries) or using pblic transportation, especially school buses for the kids.

After a shoorl be xelaninThe first stage of our journey is off to a good start ! We need to cook a meal for 40 bikers. In food was cooked in great enthousiasm, everyone doing his share. This shared meal is a good opportunity for the participants to get to know each other.

During digestion-bref we are introduced to the activities at l'Herbe à l'aise :selling handpicked herbak tea, herbs and wool since 10 years. We take this chance to have a tour of the valve dryer where plants are stored before being conditioned in small packets, the pedal grinder and the sage, mint or thyme plantations.

The project is both consistent and sustainable, especially since Lotti & Marks's needs are reduced to a minimum. The couple and their children seem happy and fulfiled nonetheless and we leave them, merry after that first encounter, knowing that it's only the beginning of our adventure.
