Festi’Tour :
Third stage : Au Milhon et chez Geneviève
On the next morning we make it double quick to get up under the rain, while surrounded by hundreds of slugs. Then, after an well-balanced breakfast we get back on track : a few participants part from the group, including a dad and his kids the whole groupe congratulated for their endurance !
Heading for the Mihon near Masseube, we plan to discover Gille, Esteban and Thomas' Forêt Nourricière (The Nurturing Forest).
This future feeding-grove has quite similar objectives than the Canopy project. We'll remember the herb garden, the fruit-trees and fruit-bearing bushes based processed goods, the self-reseeding vegetables, the mixed-race Basque pigs – gascon (with a hot temper) and the poultry.
We'll also remember this step fondly for the hot bright sun that allowed us to dry our soaked tents and bikers, the latter however already « dried-out » by a tiring bike trip, but still cheerful !
Off with a light heart after a good night'sleep, we reach Genevieve's house on Miramont Astarac heights. This took us a day and 27 km of sloppy road, good thing the astonishing points of view and sunset were there to keep us going on the gersoises roads…
Yet, Genevieve's house was even more impressive than today's journey !
A peaceful haven for everyone,a guesthouse where we were able to get a warm shower, which boasts a live exhibit of contemporary scupture, an improvised stage for a upbeat concert – also the home of Genevieve's fabulous personnality, passionate about plants, experienced in music, philosophy, the arts, basketry… This restored barn was all those things at once and gave us a strong impression !
Gently sleeping to the last jazzy melodies after a wild concert, we set our eyes on yet another day on the gascon land, jeanne's violin and justine's accordeon turning our yawns and grunts during breakfast into sheer poetry.
